Internet Explorer 8 Beta is out at the moment with some interesting new features.

InPrivate browsing – Loads a new IE window and browsing you do doesnt go in to your browser history, if you want to buy a gift online your family wont come across it by accident.

Compatibility view – IE8 has built in compatibility view button, for sites that dont display properly on the new browser.

SmartScreen Filter – New Security features help protect you against deceptive websites.

Accelerators – These can be used to help you with all sorts of tasks, translating, emailing and mapping by right click on the page.

There is also now a favorites bar at top with a button to add pages directly to the bar, there are also some performance improvements and changes to the address bar, that now gives you better list of sites you have visited. You can try the beta for yourself and find out more information here

Got more than one computer you want your files on?

Windows Live FolderShare allows you to sync folders to all your computers, you can also use it to share files with freinds and family. It works on both the PC and Mac and can sync files up to 2GB.

Look it’s Hyper-V Server 2008 working on a macBook Pro. But look at how little RAM its using and how few processes are in use.

Now this is an interesting server, as it’s completely free, installs in less than 5 minutes, configures up in about 20 seconds and does exactly what you need it to do … run Hyper-V machines. Great to see that no licence is needed to run this OS and great to see that it’s very usable.

We’ll be playing with this a bit more over the next few days, so watch this blogspace. (Yup it’s running in Parallels.)
