Hyper-V Integration Services Not Working
2009 March 1 – 9:32 am
Recently we migrated our entire IT infrastructure from Virtual Server to Hyper-V. On our Windows 2008 Terminal Server we came across a funny. Windows 2008 didn’t take the Integration Services. You’d install them but they’d simply just not be there. No matter what we tried there appeared to be no way to get the machine to play ball. Then we stumbled upon -
- Boot the broken Virtual Machine (VM) and log in
- Sart MSCONFIG (Start > Run > msconfig)
- Goto the Boot tab
- Click the Advanced options button.
- Check the Detect HAL checkbox.
- Click OK > OK
- Reboot the vm
- Install Integration Services (sometimes this step isn’t needed to be done again).
Amazingly simple when you know how
